Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 101 class (10:10-12 pm). The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get there) and 2) to practice our writing, reading, and thinking on a weekly basis in an informal setting.

Syllabus
When I read the syllabus, everything is perfectly described. I have to work hard to pass this class. My only concern is the reading of an English text. It takes a little bit more time for me because English is not my first language. I know that I can find help in tutoring center, Library to pass this class. I want to pass.
Syllabus
After reading the syllabus, I'm concerned about how I will do with the Formal Writing Assignments considering they're 60% of our grade. I know we can get help by going to Writing Center but since I'm a very shy person I don't think I would ask many questions.
Welcome to ENGL 101!
Read this syllabus and post to the blog a brief
entry, something along the lines of: “After reading the syllabus these are the
questions I have about the course… These are my attitudes about/experiences
with reading and writing…”
You may also use this space to tell me and your
classmates anything else about yourself you’d like to share.
