Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 101 class (10:10-12 pm). The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get there) and 2) to practice our writing, reading, and thinking on a weekly basis in an informal setting.

Spike Lee's Quote on Malcolm X
I found it:
“The most important book I’ll ever read, it changed the way I thought, it changed the way I acted. It has given me courage I didn’t know I had inside me. I’m one of hundreds of thousands whose lives were changed for the better
I could say that Laura was a person who made a important impact into Malcom’s life, because They were really good friend, they connect themself very well trough dance and with the time they stared to be “best friends” and hand out more often. However, the reason why Malcolm devote a chapter to her is because he stared to felt guilty for the different bad decision that Laura stared to take, after he lefts her for the white women Sofia. Laura become lesbian, and she stared to drink liquor and sell herself to mans. And Malcolm felt responsable for this wrong way that Laura took.
It should be pointed out that this idea of people "becoming" gay is out of date. It's pretty much agreed upon by intelligent people that people are born gay or straight or anything in-between, that they're not "turned" homosexual b/c of events in their lives.
