Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 101 class (10:10-12 pm). The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations before we get there) and 2) to practice our writing, reading, and thinking on a weekly basis in an informal setting.

Today was my first time ever doing a group critique like i did today, usually i would just hand my first draft to my teacher and they would be the only person to give me feedback. Today i had 3 other people give me comments on my work. that helped me a lot. it was new for me because, i never read my draft to anyone, and while reading it, i noticed some grammatical errors. Going forward, we should have an open class critique, volunteers read their story out loud for feed back from the professor and classmates.
I learned several things today from literacy, everyone struggles with it, so there is no need to be ashamed. Everyone in my group, had some sort of trouble with expressing themselves and how they overcame that struggle. My best advice is to continue to try your best, and push yourself, some days you may feel like giving up but, you'll be able to lean about literacy and about your abilities to expand.
